Though my title at Gia Kuan Consulting was “Account Executive,” I operated as a lead/co-lead across all my client accounts and a ‘swiss-army knife,‘
if you will, overseeing client relationships with executive levels, strategy, market research, competitor analysis, project management, events, reporting, and special projects. Beyond client management and project execution, I handled client seeding and gifting, managed event invitation lists and production, mentored junior team members, and collaborated with the founder on new business.
Considered one of the best arts and culture publicists of our era, Gia Kuan gave me the runway to develop into the communications and PR leader that I am today. My unique POV, knack for being ahead of the curve / cultural acuity, high ownership abilities, and lifelong relationships with journalists, industry leaders, and influencers all bloomed during my time with the creative PR agency.
My core clients included Nike Jordan (Purpose, Narrative, Luxury, Product, Executive Voices), Langham Hospitality: Eaton Workshop, LUAR, Kim Shui, Hank Willis Thomas x NBA, For Freedoms, and HBX. I secured feature coverage in target publications such as The New York Times, The New Yorker, WWD, Business of Fashion, Vogue, Teen Vogue, Rolling Stone, GQ, Harper’s Bazaar, i-D, Dazed, and PAPER, with clients earning accolades like TIME 100, LVMH Finalist, and CFDA Awards.
I led VIP seeding/gifting efforts for Nike Jordan, Telfar, Fear of God, Stüssy, TEKLA, Melissa x Y/Project, and others, while co-directing pull/sample requests for VIPs and magazine editorials, event management, and supplemental PR strategies for Telfar, TEKLA, Acne Studios, Heaven by Marc Jacobs, Kering YFINY, SSENSE’s Lu'u Dan and I’m Sorry by Petra Collins, Calvin Klein x Palace, and Deluge Books (Emily Segal, co-founder of K-HOLE).
Events I’ve managed/co-managed have ranged from private dinners, public talks, C-Suite symposiums, launch parties, music festivals, fashion shows, showrooms, film screenings, exhibition openings, and store openings.
