Architecture c/o Virgil Abloh started as a think-tank-in-residence at Nike, founded by Virgil Abloh, Mahfuz Sultan, and Chloe Sultan. Historically, the group has collaborated closely with Nike’s Catalyst Brand Marketing team and the brand’s Chief Design Officer on public programming, product innovation, and long-term vision and strategy on behalf of the late Virgil Abloh— one of Nike’s most celebrated collaborators— in some senses, comparable to LeBron, Serena, and Michael Jordan in terms of impact at the brand.
Grounded in V’s “codes” framework, Architecture is interested in preserving his legacy through cultural events and projects that generate multidisciplinary and inter-sport ideas. They are most known for overseeing “The Codes” exhibition, the annual Abloh Skateboarding Invitational in Miami, and various short films with Nike.
Today, it is an architectural and media practice mainly supported by the Virgil Abloh Foundation and Virgil Abloh Securities; though still tied to Nike.
With Architecture, as a Marketing and Communications Manager, my responsibilities have included creative strategy, competitor analysis, production, location scouting, events management, budget management, narrative development, editiorial research, partnerships management, and influencer/VIP seeding management for: product launches, product marketing photo & film campaigns, public programs, art exhibitions, and other forthcoming (and confidential) projects with Nike.
